江戸時代から繊維産業で発展してきた児島地区は日本の国産ジーンズ発祥の地。

イタリアやフランスなどヨーロッパをはじめ、世界の名だたるブランドが注目するデニム産地となった岡山県。中でも、倉敷市の児島地区は古くから繊維産業が盛んなエリアで、1960年代に日本で最初のジーンズが作られた「国産ジーンズ発祥の地」であり、“ジーンズの聖地”といわれています。

Okayama Prefecture has become a denim-producing region that has attracted the attention of famous brands from Europe, including Italy and France, as well as around the world. In particular, the Kojima region of Kurashiki City has long been an area with a thriving textile industry. It is known as the birthplace of domestically made jeans, where the first jeans in Japan were made in the 1960s, and is known as the "holy land of jeans."
